School Rules
Barnes Infant Academy strongly believes that children need an ordered, structured environment in which discipline is seen to be firm but fair. School rules are based on courtesy, common sense, personal safety and are designed to support learning. Our rules are few and simple, aimed directly at working in harmony together.
-
Children must come to school with a responsible adult and be on time for lessons, arriving by 9.00am and by 1.30pm if they go home for lunch.
-
Pupils should follow instructions from teachers and be polite and courteous to staff and each other.
-
Full school uniform is to be worn.
-
Jewellery must not be worn for safety reasons. This includes pierced earrings.
-
Mobile phones and other electronic equipment must not be used in school. Any items seen inside the buildings will be confiscated and kept securely.
-
The school will not accept responsibility for personal items lost at school.
-
Children are not allowed to ride or bring bicycles or scooters to school.
-
Sweets, crisps and drinks other than water, must not be brought into school. A Healthy Fruit scheme operates within school where each child is provided with a daily piece of fruit. Plain water is also encouraged in class – brought in a suitable bottle.
