Context of our Trust

Barnes Academy Trust (the Trust) was incorporated on 12 June 2014 as a Multi Academy Trust. The Trust currently consists of one infant academy – Barnes Infant Academy – and this serves an area in the city of Sunderland. The academy provides education for students of all abilities between the ages of 3 and 7.

The Trust was established to manage and develop schools offering a broad and balanced curriculum to students. The Trust is also expected to “promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of the area, the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time”.

The Trust is a company limited by guarantee which means that the Trustees are company directors and charity trustees. The Trust’s registered office is at Barnes Infant Academy and its company number is 09083904. The Trust is governed through its Articles of Association and the Board of Trustees is the Trust’s accountable Body.
